Howard Brodsky of Bedford NY: Penn State Football Spirit
Most college football teams enjoy the fierce loyalty of the
student body and alumni, but some fans, such as those from Penn State, truly
take it to another level. Howard Brodsky of Bedford NY is an alumnus of Penn
State who enjoys supporting his alma mater.
The “we are” chant is the signature cheer of Penn State football
fans. During games at Beaver Stadium, fans from one side of the stadium chant
“we are” and the fans from the other side respond, “Penn State”. The chant is
so ingrained that anytime someone is heard saying, “we are” during football
season, invariably someone will respond with “Penn State”.
Another sign of a die-hard fan is the passionate disdain for
both Michigan and Ohio State as the two teams have been involved in some of the
biggest games in the last decade. Any time the Nittany Lions are hosting either
of these teams, expect Beaver Stadium to be both packed and rowdy.
Howard Brodsky lives in Bedford NY with his family. His son is
carrying on the Penn State tradition and is currently a student at the
university.
